A child's session at WALK ON has been described as magical, helpful, spiritual... and FUN!

We serve children on the Autism Spectrum, including those with Asperger Syndrome and PDD, through our therapeutic horseback riding, The Listening Program, and other activities. All of our efforts are focused on helping the child reach his or her full potential, regardless of what that means. Each child is an individual, and is treated as such while at WALK ON.

Our sessions are currently held once a week on Saturday mornings, with the potential for additional summer sessions during the week as schedules permit. At each session, the child participates in horseback riding, The Listening Program, and other activities such as social interaction, sensory integration, and even reading or spelling if that's what your child needs. We use what has been proven effective through the horseback riding program, in conjunction with the child's IEP goals from their school or therapist, and tailor the experience to best meet the needs for each child. While we understand and value the fact that our participants work great on a schedule, we also strive to stretch their limits through caring, positive reinforcement to challenge them to grow mentally, physically and emotionally. The sessions last approximately 45 minutes each week and are composed of a mix of the activities mentioned here. While the social skills may include interaction with other participants, rest assured that there is a 1:1 relationship between each child and the instructors.

There is no cost or obligation to remain in the queue, and we strive to add new participants to the program as quickly as possible.
