Tara Malphrus, Executive Director & NARHA Certified Instructor

Tara Malphrus has worked in several school districts in the North Dallas area and is currently employed as a Special Education Teacher for the McKinney Independent School District. She was proudly nominated as 2005 Teacher of the Year at Vega Elementary School, and 2003 Teacher of the Year for the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas. She has been involved with horses for nearly twenty years.

Tara has worked as an equine assistant or volunteer at other therapy ranches in the area and maintains her contacts to share knowledge and learn new skills.

She is a Certified Instructor for the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) and a Certified Equine Specialist for the Equine Assisted Growth And Learning Association (EAGALA).

In addition, Tara is certified by the American Red Cross for First Aid Basics and Infant & Child CPR. She has also trained in the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Program offered by the Crisis Prevention Institute.
