"Zachary"
A poem by Troy S., 5th Grade
Vega Elementary School, McKinney, TX

Look at Zachary,
he can't walk but that's ok.

Watch him get on the horse
and fly away.

He turns sharp to the left and says,

"I'm flying like a kite.
Look at me and all my might...
it's time to see me walk.

It's my turn to have
the blessings of God.

Here we go...
it's time to get off my horse.

I believe in myself
because God's on my side.

I take my first step yes... yes!
I take my second step.

I walk to my mom.
I told you I could do it!

It was my time to shine."

Troy wrote this poem after seeing Zachary walk unassisted on our WALK ON video
